It has a bright, harmonious acacia blossom scent and a soft aroma with no off-flavours. Due to its high fructose content, acacia honey crystallises very slowly, even over several years. It can be used as a therapy for coughs, indigestion and stomach acidity and has a good antiseptic effect. Its mild taste makes it an excellent flavouring for coffee and tea. It is a pollen-free honey, so it is also recommended for people sensitive to pollen. It is the best known honey and the most widely consumed. Its popularity is due to its fluidity and mild, neutral flavour. The excellence of Hungarian acacia honey is due to the fact that there are contiguous acacia trees, and there are no other nectar-producing plants in the flowering cycle that would reduce the quality of acacia honey.
