The result of another collaboration between the Irish distiller Maison Ferrand, a Irish distiller who makes Teeling whiskey, and Plantation rums, this is a rum with a smoky and pineapple flavor. Its production differs from the “normal” Plantation Pineapple edition in that the finished rum is matured in ex-Teeling whiskey barrels, which gives it a smoky character.
In fact, this rum is the opposite of Teeling Plantation Pineapple Finish (0.7l, 49.2%) whiskey, where Plantation Pineapple rum barrels were used to rip the whiskey - and vice versa, Teeling whiskey barrels were used to ripen the rum.

How was the rum in the whiskey barrels made? The pineapple was chopped by hand, then soaked in Three Stars rum for a week, and finally distilled in Ferrand copper. Another portion of pineapple was soaked in Original Dark Rum for 3 months. The two separate pineapple-flavored drinks are combined, and this mixture is added to the Teeling whiskey barrels for an additional 3 months. And behold, the Plantation Pineapple Peated is ready!
