It is one of the most commonly used oilseeds in the US, and is becoming increasingly popular here too. Compared to the common walnut (juglans regia) we know and use, it has a slightly milder, sweeter, less tannic taste, so its popularity is understandable.
It's delicious sprinkled on cookies and ice cream, but we also recommend it sprinkled on oatmeal, salads, seed mixes, and even baked into bread!
