The success of Ardbeg is due to the traditional peat drying process of whiskeys made on the island of Islay. This process gives Islay whiskey its strong smoky flavor. The malt whiskey produced at Ardbeg's Argyll site is the number one distillate not only for enthusiasts but also on the price lists of independent bottlers and in the mixing bowls of blended whiskey makers.
The 10-year-old Ardbeg is a whiskey bottled with a so-called non-chill filtered process (NON CHILL FILTERED), which means that the drink retains many components that are important for the flavors, which would be lost in the case of chilled filtration. At the same time, this process is the reason why, when ice is added to such whiskey, these components are separated from the drink and a cloudy \'something'' appears at the bottom of the glass. This is not a mistake, it is the drink itself, an integral part of it.
