Tequila, which has won several professional awards and is aged for 2-5 months, is labeled as a work by a famous Mexican artist, José Guadalupe Posada.
This Reposado edition is distilled twice in a column still and in traditional pot still stills to get a perfectly smooth and balanced taste profile. They are then rested for 3-5 months in lightly charred, new American oak barrels to create a more complex and rounded character.
Each label on the Espolo tequilas tells a story of Mexico’s rich history. Each captures a different moment, but they all pay homage to a true hero - 19th century printer and artist José Guadalupe Posada. His most famous work, Calavera (Skulls), strongly commented on the social injustices of his time - from here, the Espolón brand drew on the skeletal representation of man in its design.
