The creator of gin, Tim James, is officially a brewer in Cape Town, but after finding an old gin recipe that had hops in it, he decided to make a gin distilled with hops himself. Blossom&Hops is a "small batch" that Tim idea was steamed by his friends in Cape Town. A Hop Gin and a Blossom Gin were originally made separately, but eventually the two spirits were mixed together.
In addition to juniper, it is based on locally grown hops and citrus fruits (lime leaf, lime flower, lemon zest), along with 11 more ingredients. The more aromatic plants were soaked in alcohol, and then this flavored alcohol was distilled with the softer, less characteristic substances. Each plant was distilled separately, and the resulting distillates were assembled, blended at the end.
London dry style, floral scent, a slight salty undertone, earthy hop flavor and the aroma of lime flowers.
