Alcohol content: 45% Isle of Harris Gin
The gin won a gold medal at the Scottish Gin Award competition in 2017, and the distillery became the Scottish Distillery of the Year in 2018. Serious accolades for such a young workshop!
Isle of Harris Gin is a multi-award winning distillate made by distillation through traditional copper. The distillery is headquartered in Tarbert, where every work process takes place from distillation to maceration to bottling. The flavor of gin is due to 9 carefully selected ingredients, perhaps the most exciting of which is sugar kelp. The environment by the sea and the unique flavor of sugar algae are perfectly reflected in the distillate, with which we can enjoy the soft embrace of the sea. The sugar algae used for the drink is collected by local divers from the deep waters of the Hebrides, so impeccable quality is guaranteed for every bottle. The ultra-premium nature of Isle of Harris Gin is reinforced by the fact that during the distillation - like premium brandy - the pre- and post-distillate is not used, only the middle distillate forms the core of the drink, which brings us even softer, cleaner flavors. Taste: At first it is filled with the characteristic aroma of juniper, then little by little the sweet flavors of mango, grapefruit and orange emerge. The experience is deepened by the appearance of spices, which are mostly defined by coriander. Scent: Of course, for the first time, notes of juniper hit our noses, accompanied by signs of pine resin. Citrus character with lemon, lime, grapefruit and bitter orange. Later, a cavalcade of spices with coriander and cinnamon appears, as well as a floral, rosy note. The aroma of sugar algae smuggles the salty, dry notes of the sea into the mix.
