The distillery was established in 1976, and its name pays tribute to the 100-year anniversary of the town of Zacapa in the eastern part of Guatemala. The rum made here is made from once-passed, concentrated sugarcane juice (so-called sugarcane honey), a process much rarer than the widely used molasses-based rum production. Distillates are also matured using a very unique process among rums, as they use the solera aging method of sherry made in Spain, the essence of which is that oak barrels are stored stacked on top of each other in huge warehouses and the contents of the barrel in the bottom row are always bottled, replacing the one above it. proceeding in this way all the way to the topmost barrel. In this way, they can guarantee constant taste and quality.

The above-mentioned peculiarities of the production process and of course the expertise of mixing master Lorena Vazquez also contribute greatly to the success of Ron Zacapa. Zacapa's rums have already won numerous international recognitions and awards, among others, Zacapa was the first to enter the Hall of Fame of the International Rum Festival, and the Chicago-based Beverage Testing Institute awarded it with over 95 points.

Aroma: Apricot, citrus, vanilla, coconut and bourbon.
Taste: Rich and full with spicy chocolate and pleasant tannic effects.
