This recipe was taken from the Northern European tradition of fruit teas, which combines the fruity and tangy flavor of the American blueberry with the sweetness of the apple and the tartness of the hibiscus. Delicious hot or cold and completely caffeine-free!
AROMA: Fruity and sweet, with hints of red berries.
APPEARANCE: A mixture of apple and blueberry pieces, with hibiscus petals. Clear pink liqueur.
TASTE: Light in the mouth, fruity, with very restrained acidity. The sweet notes of red berries embody the mixture, and the slight tartness of hibiscus prepares the taste for the next sip.
PAIRING: Excellent on its own or paired with rich desserts such as white chocolate cheesecake.
PREPARATION:
- 250 ml fresh water (filtered if necessary)
- water temperature 90 ̊ C
- infusion time, 5 minutes
- no caffeine
- can be consumed at any time, day or night
NOTES:
Fruit Waters are a mixture of diced fruit (often apple), herbs and flowers. They are caffeine-free and great for both adults and children. They can be served hot or cold, day or night.
