A brilliant straw-yellow color, a fine and lasting perlage characterizes the batch filled in the glass. The nose meets full-bodied, mineral aromas with fruity and floral nuances. Its taste has soft, balanced acids, good body, harmonious and long-lasting character. The thick sip starts with pomelo and citrus notes, then the long finish rounds off the tasting experience with a fine biscuitiness and minerality reminiscent of the terroir, leaving a long-lasting citrus freshness in the mouth.
Col Sandago sources its grapes from the "Rive di Collalto" in Conegliano, where the calcareous clay soil gives grapes with a firm structure and a distinct mineral character. The aroma is citrus and a hint of anise, and the taste is the concentration resulting from the low harvest.
This might be bone dry and slightly austere, but it's an excellent food wine that won't be put off by tangy cheeses or mildly spicy curries.
