Barbe Nicole Ponsardin became world famous not only as an estate manager, but also as an innovator under the name Madame Clicquot: together with her cellar master, they invented the shaker, one of the foundations of traditional champagne production. The champagne house, following the finest traditions, still announces the titles of the world's best female chef and businesswoman of the year every year.
