Its character is fresh and unique, even in its complexity, its spices complement each other excitingly. Due to its citrusy nature, it stands its ground on its own, it also dances in cocktails, in a classic gin & tonic combination, you just have to leave the gin, let it lead.

“Botrytis is a truly natural wonder. Everything we dared to leave out on the vines was botrytised in 2017. This Szamorodni is a Tokaj wine through and through, with Mád’s minerality and Tarcal’s fruit,” says László Szilágyi. Ten harvest days (between October 17 and November 7) and the botrytised bunches from six vineyards (Bomboly, Medve, Barát, Deák, Szil-völgy, Kastély), from the winery’s best plots were put into the press. Fermented in barrels, then aged for half a year. Pure and linear aromas, light-bodied with honey, apricot, fresh acids and well proportioned. A modern botrytised Tokaji. Residual sugar: 143 grams, acid content: 8 grams.

A touch of vanilla and pastries also appear in the background. Fresh, but quite round sparkling wine that offers a pleasant effervescence and shows some mineral, salty character in its aftertaste. The optimal dosage makes it an excellent choice in gastronomy.

We, at Barta, only make a pezsgő, that is, sparkling wine in vintages that perfectly suit the purpose – and 2017 was exactly such a vintage. It was an ‘easy’ growing season with limited pest pressure and a long, sunny days that ensured good phenolic ripeness and balance in the grapes. The Furmint base wine had high and fine, fresh acidity, along with minerality and elegance. Secondary fermentation took place in the bottle, and the wine was aged on the lees for 3 years before disgorgement.

Kéknyelű is a Hungarian grape variety grown only in Badacsony and the Balaton highlands. Before the phylloxera blight, it was popular and expensive. The wine is pale in color and has a restrained aroma, mainly reminiscent of white-fleshed fruits, citrus, sometimes flowers and green spices.

In 2022, the product won the Balaton Upland National Park Product Trademark again.

The fruit of the monopoly vineyard of Bati-Kreszt provides the backbone of the wine, Sagrantino and Cabernet Franc, and a little Kékfrankos was also mixed with it. The grape varieties were processed separately, and after pressing, they were aged in barrels of various sizes for approximately 2 years. The end result is an incredibly layered wine with great aging potential. Aromas of ripe blackberry, spices, the sip is silky, with ripe fruits, vanilla, long finish.

2019 is an outstanding sweet wine vintage, we managed to make both Aszú and Szamorodni. We were able to select the raw material from Szamorodni beautifully in the last third of October. The high-quality fruit was processed in the usual way, matured in wooden barrels and bottled at the end of summer. He is currently at the beginning of his career, bursting with freshness. Its structure is tight, the fruit aromas mixed with botrytis smuggle a real Tokaj dessert wine atmosphere into the glass. Good stuff!

This champagne sweeps us off our feet with its pale peach blossom color. In its fresh, pink flowery, red berry fruit aroma, we immediately recognize notes of currants and pomegranates, and then there is a little rose pepperiness, just for fun. Its beading is persistent, the bubbles are small and silky.
The taste is pleasant, fruity and spicy. We get everything in the taste that was promised in the aroma, the sip is lively and refreshing, and although the aftertaste is a little sweeter than we would expect, the spiciness also favorably counterbalances this.

A very lovable, unique, memorable champagne, it really shows its beauty with food. Maybe, but you don't have to prepare a complete course for it, it's enough if you have some fresh cheese or some good Spanish ham on hand; the harmony will still be perfect.
