100% Primitivo.
Fruit aroma of cherry and plum, slightly spiced with tobacco elements.
Full-bodied, soft wine with fine tannins, in the aftertaste of cocoa, coffee and vanilla.
Primitivo di Manduria "Sessantanni" is a harmonious intense red with rich and convincing aromas that surround the senses with soft notes of red fruit, hints of oriental spices and woody memories.
It is made from the fruit of the Sessantanni Valley, which is planted on approximately 40 hectares between San Marzano and Sava. The area is characterized by low rainfall, high daily temperature fluctuations and a particularly warm environment, which provides an excellent growing place for Primitivo di Mandurias. The raw material of the wine is exclusively the fruit of vines older than 60 years, so we get a very concentrated, thick, concentrated wine in the bottle that is almost unbreakable in taste and aroma.
In 1962, 19 San Marzano winemakers joined forces and founded "Cantine San Marzano". Today, this cooperative has more than 1,200 producers and uses modern and technologically advanced facilities without compromising the very old Puglian wine tradition. San Marzano is located in Puglia, in the heart of the recognized "Primitivo di Manduria" DOC, between two seas (Ionian and Adriatic). The provinces of Taranto and Brindisi offer a landscape where vineyards and olive trees grow side by side on a red surface. This soil and the Mediterranean terroir play a fundamental role in the production of high-quality wines. The climate is extreme, in difficult conditions: drought, frost, Sirocco wind.
