The first vintage of the wine nicknamed duck was made in 2019 based on a joint idea, packaging and concept. The idea that a good entry-level wine from Tokaj should be easy to drink, yet substantial, was a striking answer to a question that had not yet been asked and immediately became a great success. The good news is that based on the tastings of the 2023 vintage, it is the best version so far. Fast-paced, 3-day harvest so that the grapes arrive with the finest aromatics, fine pressing, fermentation and maturation 37.7% in barrels, 62.3% in tanks. Elegant cask, light, fresh and mineral, furmint that everyone can understand, with clean flavors, apple, pear and citrus.
"We blended the largest amount of Duck produced so far from Betsek, Ősz-hegy, Szent Tamás, Dorgó, Bomboly, Hangács, Mézes-mály and Király vineyards. In fact, the vintage was good both in terms of quantity and quality. The dry harvest started in the last week of August and lasted until the last week of September. After a break of 1-2 weeks, we started the harvest of the sweet wines, thus completing the harvest of the 2022 wines at the end of October." István Balassa
